about

My work explores the in between moments, often painted in acrylics with dark, muted tones that mirror the complexity of our unique yet often collective experiences.

Alisa Lehtinen

studio marjaana

Hi, I’m Alisa – a self-taught painter from Finland, now living in Bristol, UK. My work focuses on the moments in between. With a background in the makeup industry, I draw inspiration from its materials and processes such as layering and blending. I explore themes of contradictions, identity, and presence.

studio marjaana (pronounced mar-yaa-na) is based on my third name – an old Finnish one I used to avoid, but now love.
