about
My work explores the messiness of life, often painted in acrylics with dark, muted tones that mirror the complexity of our unique yet often collective experiences.
I’m drawn to moments of tension and ambiguity - where beauty and discomfort coexist. Each piece is both personal and open-ended, encouraging interpretation and introspection. Ultimately, my art explores imperfection, vulnerability and connection.
Alisa Lehtinen
studio marjaana
Hi, I’m Alisa – a self-taught, visual artist from Finland, now living in Bristol, UK. I create art that leans into contradictions: beautiful but uncomfortable, messy but considered, ordinary yet oddly compelling.
studio marjaana (pronounced mar-yaa-na) is based on my third name – an old Finnish one I used to avoid, but now love.
